The Hotline does not accept complaints that are unrelated such as complaints about claims, benefits or appeals. Vet Centers Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide social and psychological services for eligible Veterans, active duty service members and their families. www.vetcenter.va.gov

VETERANS SERVICES

The VA provides individualized care through a wide range of services for Veterans who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Services include: Health care, including mental health care and treatment for substance abuse; assistance with expenses such as utilities & child care; Veterans in temporary housing can get help finding a permanent place to live; help with exploring options to avoid foreclosure; job training or referrals to help eligible Veterans gain skills to prepare them for employment; temporary housing & a paying job, and more.

24/7 confidential call center where combat Veterans and their families can talk with staff about their military experience or readjustment to civilian life. Staff is comprised of combat Veterans and family members of combat Veterans. This is a free service.

Can help Veterans, service members, and their surviving spouses to buy a home or refinance a loan. They also offer benefits and services to help one build, improve, or keep their home.

VAC Serving the Community

Transportation to Lovell FHCC (North Chicago) The VAC provides transport to VA medical appointments. Professional drivers pick up patients from VAC Bus Stops.

Professional Advocacy The VAC’s highly trained and accredited staff assist veterans and eligible family members prepare, present and prosecute VA claims and appeals.

Financial Assistance

Nobody is immune to ‘hard times’. The VAC assists eligible applicants with household bills. We also have funds to assist family caregivers.
