Cultural Competency in Health Care This presentation includes information on generational cultural influences, the older immigrant population, our own cultural biases regarding aging and ethnicity, and how to gather cultural information on each client to better serve them. By increasing our knowledge of cultural differences and how they impact a patient’s perception of illness and medical treatment, it’s possible to increase both patient satisfaction as well as adherence to treatment plans.
